In this article, we are taking a look at another one of my favorite main level living neighborhoods in Hoover, Alabama. Today we are talking about James Hill.  James Hill is one of the award winning sub-communities within the larger community of Ross Bridge.

James Hill consists of one big loop of homes on the upper level and a second area on a lower level.  The entire neighborhood has beautiful sidewalks and trails for people to walk. James Hill is built into the side of Shades Crest Mountain, so you have a backdrop of the mountain which is just beautiful.

James Hill has a large “pocket” park tucked in behind the circle of homes.  It’s a great, safe place for kids to play away from the streets.

James Hill also has its own private pool and playground.  The pool clubhouse is designed like a lodge and is hidden amongst a grove of trees.

I-459 is a little over six miles away and I-65 is around twelve miles away from the James Hill neighborhood, so you still have quick access to everything that the Birmingham area offers. This community has plenty of shopping and a variety of restaurants to choose from. There is even a Fresh Market grocery store only one mile away from the James Hill community.

If you enjoy playing golf, then this is the perfect location as the Ross Bridge portion of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is minutes away.  James Hill is also close to the Moss Rock Preserve, which is a kid friendly 350 acre preserve that has twelve miles of hiking trails and features multiple waterfalls.

The vast majority of the homes in James Hill have a main level garage, main level master and they have flat, level backyards. So these homes are great for whatever your family needs. The price point for the James Hill community is mid to high $300K generally speaking. There are few homes that are a little bit less and a few that are higher.

As a part of the larger Ross Bridge community, James Hill residents have access to all the pools (8) in the neighborhood.  The community parks are tucked in throughout Ross Bridge and provide hours of family fun.

The Ross Bridge trails wind from neighborhood to neighborhood connecting them all.  The James Hill neighborhood has a “hidden” trail and bridge that goes under Ross Bridge Parkway creating a safe way to cross to the main area.

Families enjoy many season events including the annual Easter Egg Hunt, the golf-cart Christmas parade, movies in the park and the farmer’s markets.

This neighborhood is zoned for Hoover City Schools: the Elementary School for the James Hill community is Deer Valley, the Middle School is Robert F. Bumpus, and the High School is Hoover High.
